Nu-Therapy Ketone Breath Meter Review (2024)

nu therapy breath ketone montioring system

This is my review of the Nu-Therapy keto breath monitoring system. I have been regularly on and off keto for over 7 years now, and here’s my experience.

The Nu-Therapy device is cheap and very easy to use. The main problem is that it uses a very simplistic sensor technology and offers very inconsistent measurements.

In this Nu-Therapy ketone sensor review, I will analyze the device, its accuracy, drawbacks, and top alternatives.

Nu-Therapy Ketone Breath Meter Review

Pros

  • Offers fast results
  • Very cheap and affordable
  • Compact and easy to use
  • Has an on-device screen

Cons

  • Offers inconsistent measurements, not accurate
  • Overall negative feedback from users
  • Not an FDA-registered medical device
  • No accompanying app

The Nu-Therapy monitor measures your breath ketones and lets you know in seconds whether your body is burning fats or carbs for energy.

It has a convenient, compact design and is super easy to use, even on the go. What makes it even more convenient is that it’s a one-time purchase.

Unlike urine strips, which require continuous replacement, this meter is a one-and-done deal. You pay once. Then you can use it as much as you want without any ongoing costs.

The brand’s mission is all about supporting health and well-being with innovative products that easily fit into your active lifestyle.

And this meter certainly does that. If you have multiple people in your household on the keto diet, don’t worry. The device comes with multiple reusable mouthpieces, so everyone can have their own.

How Does Nu-Therapy Ketone Monitor Work?

The nu-therapy ketone meter is a handy device that’s really easy to use. It works a lot like a breathalyzer.

You just turn it on, wait for it to calibrate, then breathe into it. In a matter of seconds, the meter measures the amount of acetone, which is a part of ketones, in your breath.

This gives you a quick and accurate reading of your ketone levels.

The meter even converts the units to mmol/L, so it’s easier to understand the results. Plus, the digital display screen makes it simple to read your results.

Nu-Therapy Ketone Breath Analyzer Price

The Nu-Therapy ketone monitor costs around $30, and you can only purchase it at Walmart.

Here’s what you get with the Nu-therapy tracker package:

  • Nu-Therapy Ketone Breath Analyzer
  • 10 replaceable mouthpieces
  • User manual

Is the Nu-Therapy Keto tracker worth the money? I think if it’s your first time getting into ketosis and you have it on sale, then it’s a fun tool to play with.

But if you are serious about measuring your ketone levels and staying in ketosis, then I think you should definitely check out Keyto and Biosense breath meters.

Nu-Therapy Monitor Customer Reviews

Looking at the customer reviews for the Nu-Therapy Monitor on Walmart, it’s clear that people aren’t very happy with it.

The average review rating is just 2 out of 5 stars, which is pretty low. Most of the reviews I saw were only 1 star.

What’s the problem? Well, it seems like the device is not very reliable. Folks say their readings change based on their breathing speed.

Even a small change in how fast you blow into the meter can really mess up the results. So, getting an accurate reading with a breath meter like this one can be a real challenge.

Review by Laura

“Not accurate at all. I used this almost daily for weeks while following a Keto diet well under 30-40 carbs daily and no cheats. Every single reading I’ve ever gotten with this device has been 0. I suspected the device was defective, so I bought urine strips and tested with the strips multiple times over days only to find out I was deep in ketosis while the breath meter STILL says 0. Do not trust this thing at all.”

Review by Kim

“Horrible waste of money. It worked one time for me. Pee strips work EVERY time. This thing never works. So frustrating that my hard earned money is being flushed downed the toilet by some gimmicks. The people selling this product should be ashamed of themselves. Very disappointed. Don’t waste your money. Just get the pee strips. I got this because I couldn’t find the pee strips at my store. Now I know why.”

Review by Barbara

“I usually check reviews before a purchase on such an item. But I saw on shelf while shopping at Walmart, and figured they put their seal of approval on it. So in my cart it went. What a mistake! This unit is a joke!! Does not work if you want any form of accurancy. Never again will I buy fom this company and I am disappointed that Walmart hasn’t pulled it from the shelf. Looks to me as if there are plenty of unhappy customers to alert Walmart to a lemon.”
