Acetrack Ketone Breath Monitor Review (2024)

acetrack ketone breath monitor

This is my review of the Acetrack portable breath ketone breathalyzer. I have been regularly on and off keto for over 7 years now, and here’s my experience.

The Acetrack device originates from Sweden and looks like a vape pod. It provides consistent results but lacks scientific data backing it’s accuracy.

In this Acetrack review, I will analyze the device, its accuracy, drawbacks, and top alternatives.

Acetrack Ketone Breath Meter Review

Pros

  • Non-invasive way to measure breath ketone levels
  • Compact design and very easy-to-use
  • You can add reminders so you won’t forget to take measurements
  • Comes with a rechargeable battery

Cons

  • Not readily available in the US, need to get a custom shipping from Sweden
  • No scientific backing for the accuracy of the device
  • No on-device screen
  • Looks like an odd vape pod

The Acetrack Ketone Breath Meter is a smart, portable device that lets you monitor your ketosis levels anywhere, anytime.

Acetrack was developed by the Swedish company Deversify. It measures the acetone in your breath, providing a non-invasive way to track your body’s fat-burning process.

It’s a lightweight, rechargeable monitor that you can take with you wherever you go. All it takes is one exhale into the device, and boom, you can instantly see if your body is burning carbs or fat for energy.

It’s pretty user-friendly, too, with a compact design and an option to add reminders so you won’t forget to take measurements.

However, it’s not readily available in the US, which is a bit of a bummer. You’d have to arrange for custom shipping from Sweden.

Also, it’s worth noting that there’s no scientific backing for the device’s accuracy, and it doesn’t have an on-device screen.

Which I don’t like because this forces me to check my phone screen first thing in the morning. Which I want to avoid as long as possible.

How Does Acetrack Ketone Monitor Work?

The Acetrack Ketone Monitor is a neat ketone breathalyzer that helps monitor your ketone levels easily.

This monitor has built-in gas and pressure sensors, which are designed to provide accurate and consistent readings.

You can connect it to your smartphone via Bluetooth and use an app for easy tracking and recording.

The sensor measures acetone levels in parts per million (PPM), but you also have the option to view results in mmol/L.

You can even share your Acetrack with others by simply swapping the detachable mouthpiece and creating individual app accounts.

Plus, it’s easy to charge – just plug it in overnight, and you’re good to go for the whole day!

Acetrack App

The Acetrack monitor comes with a free accompanying app that helps to keep tabs on your ketosis levels.

The app even lets me input my measurements manually, which is a big plus for me as I often switch between devices.

One feature that I find really handy is the reminder to take my measurements. I’m the type of person who often forgets my mid-noon measurements, so this feature really comes in clutch.

The app is free to use and doesn’t have a “surprise” upsell like with many other ketone breath meter apps.

So, if you live in Europe and are looking to track your ketosis levels, I’d definitely consider giving the Acetrack a try.

Acetrack Price

Acetrack breath sensor costs 2,395 Swedish Krona, which is about $217 or €205. In the package, you get:

  • Acetrack portable ketone breathalyzer
  • User guide
  • Micro USB charging cable
  • An extra mouthpiece
  • Free app

You can connect the Acetrack device to your mobile phone using Bluetooth and a free app. Right now, Acetrack is being sold in 8 European countries. They offer free shipping and free returns on all orders.

However, international shipping is a bit of a problem. They do offer free shipping outside the EU, but it’s on a case-by-case basis. After you place your order, they will contact you via email to discuss where they will ship your package from.

Acetrack Monitor Customer Reviews

Looking at the customer reviews for the Acetrack homepage, it’s clear that people are overall happy with the device.

The average review rating is just 4.8 stars from 14 reviews, which is good but based on so few reviews. This makes it difficult to assess the real quality and customer satisfaction.

The reviews are mostly positive, with an even split between star ratings. This tells us that Acetrack Monitor is doing something right!

Review by Christopher

“Easy to use and extremely useful. Understanding your own body and how it reacts and cycles is difficult, but this device really helps you get to grips with it. Very easy to set up and use, and gives you instant feedback on where your body is in regards to fat burning. After a week of taking 4 tests a day, I have now established how my body reacts with strong cyclical status not always linked to food intake. The next stage is to experiment with different foods and cycles of fasting to see how my body reacts. The most useful tool to establish your own rhythms and cycles to ensure you are maximizing your own health.”

Review by Scott

“Like the unit. The app is lacking. The unit is easy to use after a little practice to blow the right amount. It’s been really helpful in seeing how food quantity and meal timing affects ketosis. My complaint about the app is that you’re allowed to put in comments, but I can’t find instructions on how to view the comments. Also, there appears to be no option to download the data so I have to hand copy the measurements to where I want them. Finally, there is no explanation for the conversion from ppm to mmol/L and it doesn’t seem to agree with other sources online, but with no explanation there’s no way to make sense of the discrepancy.”

“Ease of use & consistent results. This is an excellent, easy to use device to gauge your ketosis levels, delivers consistent results & avoids the need of intrusive blood tests.”
