Though the ratio of MCTs in coconut oil leans largely towards lauric acid (C12), which provide powerful and time microbial, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

- Hydrogenated Coconut Oil - Hydrogenated coconut oil is a hardened refined oil that has a long shelf life. It also has a solid texture and a higher melting point than unrefined coconut oil. However, the process of making these changes the unsaturated fats monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids into a more saturated and trans fat, making it unsuitable for consumption.
