Exogenous Ketones are known to be an effective tool to take your weight loss journey to the next level.

They are like a rocket fuel that can be efficiently used by your brain and muscles.

Ketones generate more energy per unit of oxygen than carbohydrates, protein, and fat do.

One of the popular brands in the supplemental ketones market is definitely KetoSports.

Some years ago they released a product called KetoCaNa - a strong rival in the exogenous ketones market.

What is it made, does it help with weight loss and does it live up to the hype?

We are here to find out.

But before we dive deep into the product, if you are in a hurry, then check out this summary below:

Summary
KetoCaNa is one of the strongest players on the ketone supplement market. It delivered noticeable energy boost and increase in ketone levels as advertised. On the negative side, the product is definitely in the competitive price department. On the good side, it tastes well compared to competitors.

What is KetoCaNa?

KetoCaNa is an exogenous ketones supplement used to help induce and maintain the state of ketosis. The main source of Beta-HydroxyButyrate (BHB), the main energy source that will help you to get the most out of the ketogenic diet.

KetoSports states that it is excellent for ketogenic dieters who need energy but must limit carbohydrate intake. KetoCaNa also uses calcium and sodium for better absorption and transportation of BHB. It's also sugar, caffeine, and gluten-free.

KetoCaNa supplemental ketones come in powder form (if you prefer liquid version then check out Ketoforce).

Comes in two flavors: orange base and strawberry lemonade. Our favorite is the last one.

The main benefits of using KetoCaNa are boosted mental clarity and performance, stable energy levels, improved stamina, and resistance training performance.

What is it made of?

KetoCaNa contains 11.7 grams (per serving) of Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB). The good news is that it contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors.

KetoCaNa is perfect for individuals who need fast energy and need to limit their carbohydrate intake. It's also ideal for people who consume carbs to provide an additional energy boost and limit exercise-induced glycogen depletion.

KetoCaNa can also be used to get into ketosis faster and minimize the potential side-effects. It may help to alleviate fatigue and lethargy some may experience while making the transition from carb burning state to ketosis.

KetoCaNa is manufactured in the USA and is:

  • Paleo, keto and vegan friendly
  • Lactose free
  • check-circle-o
    Gluten free
  • No artificial colors or flavorings
  • check-circle-o
    No preservatives

How to use it?

It's perfect for athletes who are looking to increase energy levels and boost their performance.

KetoCaNa is also suitable for anyone who wants to enter ketosis faster.

For best results, KetoCaNa should be stirred vigorously into 8 ounces of cold water, until dissolved.

ketocana

It's suggested, that if you try to enter ketosis (NOT in ketosis) then take 3 servings a day.

If you are in ketosis and want to improve your performance, then use it as a pre-workout supplement, 15 minutes prior to intense exercise.

How does it taste?

KetoCaNa comes in 2 flavors: orange base and strawberry lemonade.

I personally prefer the strawberry lemonade flavor because I am a big sweet tooth and the taste is pretty sweet.

In addition to that, it has a very strong lemon/lime flavor. Just add enough water and then its drinkable.

If you don't like the sweet taste or prefer more neutral taste then you may want to consider orange base flavor.

Compared to other exogenous ketones products, I could say that it's pretty good.

I think I liked Perfect Keto slightly more, but this is definitely a premium product and worth trying out.

Side effects

ketosports ketocana review

There are no known KetoCaNa specific side-effects.

But individuals have stated some general side-effects with all exogenous ketones.

For example, if you are not acclimated to exogenous ketones, you may experience GI upset with the first use of these products.

Symptoms will subside rather quickly and are usually absent within two doses.

Does it work?

In summary, during my 2 week test period, that KetoCaNa works well in catalyzing ketosis. I saw a noticeable increase in mental performance, energy levels and ketone readings (using blood ketone meter).

I used it as part of intermittent fasting process, where KetoCaNa was consumed during the breakfast and the first meal was during midday.

I consumed KetoCaNa before my morning run and saw a noticeable energy boost.

Usually, it takes about an hour for me to run around 5 miles, but when experimented with KetoCaNa, my times improved by 15 minutes (from 60 minutes to 40-45 minutes).

Now, I realize that these are rookie numbers when it comes to running, but I can say that you will feel the extra energy.

What are users saying?

On Amazon, they have almost 400 reviews that have given KetoCaNa powder an average of 3.8 stars during June of 2018. The best-described experiences involve convenient form, noticeable energy boost and increased levels of ketones.

The main downsides of this product seem to be mainly the competitive pricing. Which many of the reviewers stated, that although it's pricey, it’s also worth it. There were some comments about the taste being not good, but it seems that these people may have too high hopes on the taste of exogenous ketones.

These supplements are not tasting like Dr. Pepper, and that's okay. They deliver results, that's their many goals. Based on my own experience, I would say that the strawberry lemonade flavor was very good (sweet) and I encourage to try it out if you are serious about your weight goals.

This worked wonders for me. I was having a hard time getting keto-adapted. This stuff lasts many hours and really helped me. I tried the powders, but this is superior to KetoCana and Keto OS for me anyway. I used 3X a day for 3 days and then 1 time to stay in ketosis along with my keto diet.

The Barker Family

I like to fast. This stuff gives me great energy while fasting. Really good stuff. Plus they use Stevia as the sweetener which is natural. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Thomas

My daughter and I found this an excellent help during the transition to ketosis (2 - 3 servings per day). It also helps me go without breakfast - an intermittent fast of ~18 hours. Not so sure of its effect on high-intensity exercise, but I'm old and unfit; pretty much any hard workout makes me want to cry anyway. Pricey, but worth it.

Final thoughts

KetoCaNa is definitely one of the strongest players on the exogenous ketones field. We liked that it’s lactose-free and contains no artificial colors or flavorings. The product comes in powder form and is convenient to use.

The taste department had positive news: it was surprisingly good as compared to other exogenous ketones products. The strawberry lemonade is definitely on the sweet side, and the orange base is more neutral or even sour tasting.

KetoCaNa delivered the benefits it claimed: a noticeable boost in energy levels and increase in ketone levels. I saw a noticeable improvement in my morning run time (from 60 minutes to 40-45 minutes).

The price of KetoCaNa is in the competitive department. But like with any other things in life, you get what you pay for. We would suggest try it before making lasting judgments.
